I have suffered with RLS for about 25 years. I have seen sleep specialists, tried most of the usual suspect medications. No relief.
The highlands homeopathic remedy does help, also not drinking alcohol. But still suffered.
A couple of years ago, someone posted an idea in this thread and it is the only thing that has made a difference for me. It is a form of Yin Yoga, which means you stay in a position for anywhere from 5-15 minutes. The position that helps is
Supta Baddha Konasana or Supine Bound Angle
Lying on your back, bend the knees and bring the bottoms of the feet together. Bring the feet to the floor with the heels close to the hips. ...
Inhale and slide the arms along the floor up over your head. ...
I lie on the floor and breathe through the pain of the stretch for about 10 minutes while I watch TV. When I don't do it for a couple of nights, the RLS comes roaring back. When I do it, it calms it down.
I keep watching this space for anyone else who has had success with this. It seems to simple not to mention cheap to work. But I swear it saved my life. It is worth a try.
