Very short term relief.

Has anyone tried this? It works for me- for a few minutes.

I lie on my side and roll up into a ball, and walk my feet along the wall to make an even tighter ball, and the RLS stops! I often fall asleep like that, but as soon as I'm sleeping my body moves into a more comfortable position, and the RLS starts again. I'm trying to think of ways of tying myself in that position, but it would probably cut off the blood supply to something vital!

Lately I've been having some success with laying on my stomach. I'm not near a wall, so I can't try your method. I usually just keep a pillow clenched between my knees.

I spend most evenings laying on my tummy, that way i can kick my legs upi behind me, and no pressure on my feet :)

I find lying on my stomach in bed also relieves it a bit, but not on a bad night.

Don't tie yourself up, could be dangerous but I agree walking your feet on the wall helps. I think it is the pressure.

My latest "treatment" has been laying in bed playing on my cell phone (keeping distracted seems to dull the RLS a bit) until I'm too exhausted to stay awake anymore, then I fall asleep in spite of the RLS.

I have also found lying on my stomach seems to help and putting my feet on a cold wall. Getting a bit long in the tooth for lying on the floor unless a winch is handy! but that helps too.

Have wall walked into a ball since I was a child. I never knew

why my legs wouldn't relax until this group and my doctor told

me what to call it.

I fall asleep with half of my body on the bed, both feet flat on

the floor until I smash to the floor. I lay down padding. It's the

only sure way that I can get at least an hour of sleep. My legs

are stretching while I am napping. =)

Crazy Crazy us, I know but if it works for you, then it's not weird

at all.

Someone on this panel said to lay on your tummy and clench the

bottom of the mattress with your feet holding that for as long as

it takes to get to sleep. It worked occasionally for me but not as

well as standing on the side of the bed with my top half on it.

Yikes, i have done both of what you have said. The stretching of the legs out straight seems to help some. It doesnt work so well these days. but i still sleep better with my legs out straight and on my tummy. Just, the half on and off the bed doesnt work anymore nor does the pulling with your feet over the end of the mattress.

If the weird things we do works for us, then thats all that matters....i sometimes like being in the crazy club.... We could be in worse ones... :)
