RLS Lymphodema and MLD

I have severe RLS and severe PLMD

I am currently on 0.5 clonazepam,250 pregabalin and 2mg neupro patches

In march i had a knee replacement operation and after this my leg swelled up and I have been diagnosed with lymphodema.

I have been prescribed Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) massage therapy

I am very scared of anything unusual effecting my legs since my experience in the past has been that this can be enough to make my RLS even worse

Does anyone on this forum have experience of having MLD? Did it trigger their RLS?

I would be very grateful for any information

Many. thanks

I doubt that it will be a problem since massage in general can make RLS feel better at least temporarily.

The causes of your RLS PLMD and lymphodema are probably the same, probably the coneumption of too many refined carbas and refined seed oils. youtu.be/0pEjjaaFaVs?si=VLz...

I also have lymphodema- cause unknown. I did notice that after edema massage I would have an rls breakthru. At first thought it was all on my head but after 3 or 4 massages they definitely had an impact. Also get breakthrus with any kind of stretching or even mild exercise.(treadmill mainly). I'm afraid to do anything.Am on .75mg of Ropinirole.

Everyone is different. So give massage a try. Didn't do much for my edema either.

Am have ultrasound on both legs this week.

I am so sorry regarding your medical issues. I don’t know if this is the info you are asking for but here goes. I have RLS and am on Clonozapam for a back issue and Buprenorphine for pain. The Buprenorohine has completely taken care of my severe RLS, as it has for many on this site. Type Buprenorphine/Suboxone on the search bar for lots of info, also on Clonozapam. I am currently taking Clonozapam because of my back issue. I understand the withdrawal is not easy, bit doing it slowly will help. I hope this helps, Thorp. You will be in my prayers and may God bless you and give you peace. Please cast your cares to Him and He will guide you. Please respond and let me know if I was of help.

Dear Josana13

Many thanks for your advice and support

What is your dosage of clonazepam and Buprenorphine per day.

Did you have any trouble in persuading doctors to put you on Buprenorphine?
