yes, when you fill in the form mention every meds you take, i take pramipexole which is a Parkinson's medicine , that carries weight, there is a space to fill in what happens to you, wrote copious amounst of truth, fill in every detail skip nothing ignore the fact that there is repeat questions fill them in. leave not one space, (dont you decide what questions are unnecessary There is even place to let someone give what they have observed of you suffering. i get 276 a month. Assisted 2 other residents who had been turned down 3 times and it was successful. So handy when you need extras, i have a cleaner 1 a week now a rollator to walk with (I am sure at my late age the RLS has affected my leg muscles and my balance, I was approved first time
Yes, it is worth applying for it. The best advice I can give you is to make an appointment with the Citizens Advice Bureau and to fill in the form with one of their advisors. It is amazing the tiny details you will miss out, that they are trained to advise you on. Obviously the lack of sleep, adverse reactions to medication, lack of concentration, etc all take there toll. The allowance is not means tested, so is available to everyone who qualifies.Living alone and having to use a stroller to walk with, I qualified for the higher allowance. It has made a tremendous difference to me. I strongly advise using the CAB - without their help I'd have been unable to complete the form effectively.
Wishing you all the best.
