Gonna attempt a 48 hour running/walking race around a 400 metre track In Gloucester 11th August 10am -13th August 10am. We change directions every 4 hours😄!
PLEASE WOULD YOU GIVE A DONATION TO YOUR FAVOURITE CHARITY 😃👍. There will be a sweepstake for the person who can guess the number of miles I complete to the nearest yards or metres.
The only prize will be a hug from me or massive gratitude, but it will be fun to see what figures you come up with😂. And hopefully a number of charities will benefit.
So please :
1. Say what charity you will donate to so we can advertise it
2.Say how much you are happy to give (this is optional 😄)
3.Say how many miles and yards/metres you think will be completed !
Remember that I am really ancient and unfit, with a rather dodgy unpredictable attitude, so the mileage will not be great hahaha!
Thank you all xxxxx🥰

. Fantastic. for RLS UK! But 240 miles is up there with the top world champions aged 30!! . I would cut the mileage down to between a quarter (60) and a half (120)!!😂😂😂 remember I am 68..,, 😂😂😂
RLSLearner thank you very much ! Thanks for the $100 Aus . I’m guessing your favourite charity is?? Can’t be RLS UK? . (My idea was to raise money for people’s favourite charity.)
A thread bump is the act of adding a new message or post to a particular thread/discussion in order to return it to the top of the thread/discussion list. If no one replies for a good few hours or a day for instance, the thread falls right down the page and others may well miss it. By adding the word "bump" this brings the message back up to the top of the page where hopefully more members will see it when logging on and hopefully support you in your walk/run by pledging a donation to their favourite charity etc.
Cannot believe that it is 7 days ago since we last had contact. Even though the weather has not been at all great I hope you have been able to get out walking /running in readiness for the big day(s) in 5 days time. It is really good of you to do this for charity and is really appreciated. I see it is mentioned on the charity website too.🌻 👍💪💪🏃♀️🚶♀️
Yes I have been out doing some miles😁. Not too many so I’m not too tired on race day. I sort of taper off the training hopefully to the correct level 🤪😂. Thanks very much for the encouragement… 4 1/2 days before it begins…. Yikes..! 🤞
Is there anyone else out there who wants to predict my miles walked over 48 hours and give some money to your favourite charity. Let me know any you may win the massive prize! That is a lovely online hug from me and the joy in knowing that you were intuitive and kind 👍👏👏👏🥰
Yes, new week and weather picking up… no please don’t think you have underestimated my potential mileage. If I was 30 years younger, then maybe… however now with the ravages of time , crummy joints and 32 years of RLS it is very likely that it could be a complete wimp-out effort. But I will have a word with my brain and my soul and tell them to dig deep 🤪😂
Whatever you achieve mileage wise will be absolutely great. I would be utterly useless! Keep well. I am counting down the days like I expect you are too. 😀🙏🏃♀️🚶♀️
yes , definitely counting down the days. Big protein for the next two days, then carbo-boosting for the last couple of days. Not sure that it will do any good for my performance but who doesn’t love yummy carbs..😋All support most gratefully received 🤗
I am sure it will help your performance. You appear to know exactly what to do. I have a feeling you have taken part in events like this before - probably many times. Well done you! ⭐⭐
How's it been and how are you. Mixed batch with the weather at least where I Iive! Hope you are OK and look forward to hearing how you did over the three days. Will be sending my donation to RLS-UK very soon!
It was incredibly kind and thoughtful of you to do this to raise funds for RLS-UK or any other charity others were willing to donate to.
It’s done and I am totally and utterly shattered but happy as I did try very hard and didn’t give up which I thought I might do.
Thank you for all the support you have given and some money has been pledged to RLS-UK !!
If anyone didn’t want to donate any before , it is never too late snd I’m sure RLS-UK will be very happy to receive even the smallest amount…
Now for the figures … I walked 104+ miles in the 48 hours , which I was pleased with … (I was actually 1st and last in my age category , 65-69 , BUT being the only one in this age category that wasn’t hard !hahahaha! To put it in perspective, there was one amazing 79 year old lady Edda Bauer who walked 125 miles! She is the world record holder for her age group and I am not anywhere near her league. The winning lady ran about 220 miles and the winning man ran about 240 miles! Just staggering!
Anyway I turned up and had a fun (?!?😂) time. The winner of my ‘guess Kate’s distance sweepstake’ is RLS LEARNER who guessed 101 miles ! So congratulations ! And thank you very much for donating and joining in..
BIG LOVE to all us RLS folks and may we all get good relief from the mean torture.
Well done you, Kakally. You are a star. You did really well. Congratulations and huge thanks for undertaking this venture for charity. You must be very proud of yourself. I am proud of you anyway! I hope others are too and let you know by supporting you. Power to you! Hugs. 👍💪🏃♀️🚶♀️👏👏🌻🌻⭐⭐💛💛
If a few people gave up a little treat like a take away coffee or a bought sandwich and donated to RLS-UK or another charity in support of Kakally's run/walk that would be really awesome.💛🧡❤️💚💙💜
