You'll probably have seen the negative replies about sertraline in the last two posts about it:

You'll see that bupropion (Wellbutrin) and trazodone are recommended as safer for RLS

Thanks. Chris. Currently on Bupropion 150mg. Wondering if an increase would help with anxiety?

I can't advise- you should talk to your health care provider - but I note the following:

It is known to make RLS worse in many. As mentioned before the only safe antidepressants are Wellbutrin and trazodone.

Thank you Sue. I am currently on Bupropion 150 mg and having anxiety. (A sensation in the pit of my stomach). I wonder if it would help to increase Bupropion

I too had that awful feeling in the pit of my stomach, caused by anxiety. The Pregabalin has take that away.

Thank you so much. So you know how horrible that feeling is. My doctor said it was acid, but it doesn't feel that way. How long did the pregabalin take to work?

I’ve taken sertraline since 2020 - my mother had just died & Inhad been her caregiver for several years, starting around 2014. So, after the funeral, I emotionally depleted, and then Covid… my pcp prescribed it, and it helped calm my emotions. Now I’ve decided to taper off. However, I do think it helped me.

Thank you for your response. I took it years ago and it was great. I don’t want to aggravate my RLS.

I too k sertraline and found it extremely helpful for my anxiety and depression. I have suffered RLS all my life and took some time to “twig” that it was the sertraline making the RLS worse. The RLS website lists all anti depressants that are in this category. Sadly I came off Sertraline which I had found really worked well. I took advice from this website and went on Trazadone but I felt shocking on it. It did not suit me at all. I am now on Pregabalin which is prescribed for Generalised Anxiety disorder and also used for RLS. I am 72.

oh, Trazadone! I felt like a zombie on it & couldn’t function.

Thank you so much. I am currently on Gabapentin. See Doc tomorrow, will ask to switch me. I am also on Bupropion.

I was unable to tolerate Wellbutrin (bupropion) as it increased my anxiety- like being over-caffeinated.

I am on Bupropion and wondering if maybe that might be causing the anxiety.

Hi again. Do I have to taper down to get off Bupropion? I was taking Gabapentin and my doctor told me to get off of it if it wasn't helping. I quit taking it and I was so sick from the withdrawal. I looked up the withdrawal symptoms and I had every one of them. I took the Gaba again and I got better. Now I want to switch to Pregabalin because it seems to be helping with anxiety.
