Approximately how long does it take to be rid of rls after going off requip? My last dose was Christmas eve. I no longer have daytime augmentation. Long car rides were only problematic at night. Im current taking 1800mg gabapentin. .had to take an extra 600mg tonight. I have tramadol 100mg but would rather not use it. Some nights i dont need it at all. With me it is stress...im off alcohol, sugar, glutamate , sometimes drinking coffee helps...not today!just yook a magnolia bark snd l-theanine very sleepy didn't help RLS !

Withdrawal from Requip!
Congrats for getting off the Requip! The first question is: how long were you taking it? And was it concurrent with the Gabapentin? The Gabapentin may be all you need or it may not work at all without the Requip, depending. Or, you just might need some kratom or an opioid on top of the gabapentin to get you through the withdrawal weeks until things settle down. The amount of time seems to vary greatly-some people say it takes a long time to get back to baseline, if they even do get back to it. Sounds like you are hoping the rls will be gone entirely? With no meds at all or with just the gabapentin?
I would order some red vein kratom powder asap to get you through this time frame and/or to have as a reliable backup in the future.
I have the kratom..someone gave it to me....afraid of it. Im taking 2400 of Gabapentin...slept two nights in a row. Have Tramadol if i need it. Doesnt always work. Didnt need any last night. Just can't wake up..very groggy. Going to have to cut back on the gabapentin. T.hanks for the reply
Hi. I too am in the withdrawing from ropinerole. My last dose was December 23rd. I was on 1 mg for a year before I noticed the early signs of augmentation. I am definitely experiencing an increase in RLS. I'm taking 400 mg gabapentin and 225 mg dipyridomole. I would like to hear what other forum members have to say about your query...
Hi, Fatniss and many congrats-you did it! Did you ever try Delta 8? You can get it almost anywhere in the US. Great for sleep. Also-did you try the hirsuta and/or the suboxone?
I'm assuming you asked Dr. B about this, but perhaps if you increase your dosage of gabapentin, that would cover your withdrawal symptoms?
Hi Teddi. Yes I use a small amount of Delta 8 in an oil form. I also use a CBD/CBG/CBN oil. None of these really make me terribly sleepy, but once asleep, I seem to sleep deeper and longer. I bought the hirsuta, but never tried it. And the suboxone - yes, I've tried it a few times, experimenting with different doses. The stuff is powerful, and works, but I'm not crazy about using it unless I really need it (which someday I may). If there's one thing that I've learned about RLS, it's that sometimes "less is more". Most of what we use to treat our symptoms may make them worse in the long run, so we need to be very careful about what we choose! I want to see what my RLS will be like several weeks after stopping the ropinerole before I start adding more to the mix.
I get it and I am doing some of the same things-I use suboxone sometimes and I need to re-try the dipyridamole. I would really like to stay off the opioids, if at all possible, but sometimes I cave. Recently I took a break from kratom and used suboxone. I may switch to hirsuta now, since it is non-addictive. which means you don’t get more rls when trying to stop it, as you do with opioids and kratom. I never did figure out what my baseline rls is, for those reasons! if that helps reinforce what you are doing!
It took me 2 months to be off Requip before I got relief with an opioid. Now on Suboxone,.
Thanks for the reply....its a struggle. But my last car trip i had no symptoms...also ib early evening ..none . Quite a change for me. Just late night.
hi-are you saying that opioids didn’t work for you for those 2 months?
Unfortunately, that is what I am saying. The reason is my body didn't handle the opioid until I was put on Suboxone. Methadone helps most people but I was nauseated all the time and very painful.
oh, gosh, you must have been in hell those 2 months and also while tapering down! ugh! I used methadone to get off the DA’s. Kratom to get off the methadone. I now use suboxone, sometimes, and kratom or hirsuta powders. so glad you are doing much better! did you think the withdrawal symptoms lasted those 2 months?
Absolutely in hell. Last night I had 8 hours sleep. The first might in over a year.
For me the four weeks following my last dose of ropinirole were the worst part of the withdrawal. After the fourth week I started to get some relief.
Thanks...and congrats on going off of the stuff...i try to warn people not to take it...won't listen.
Well done. The withdrawal is hard and I ended up with almost constant RLS symptoms when trying to withdraw. I am now back on Ropinirole but reduced to 1mg per night. I am finally sleeping again albeit only 5 hours. I have also withdrawn from Duloxetine for Fibromyalgia so not taking any pain relief. I am sore but feel better in myself. I don’t want to take any other drugs so will have to stick with Ropinirole as Pregablin and Gabapentin don’t agree with my. GP prescribed Quinine but that was rubbish.
Been reading about Cortisol levels causing RLS and fatigue. Does anyone else know anything about it?
sounds rough and I really hope the ROP doesn’t augment on you. perhaps you should make this a new post….
Thank you. I think I was augmenting before but seems to have settled in the lower dose so could have been the Duloxetine making it worse. I have taken your advice and added a separate post. Good luck with your journey.
yes, I hope that is true about the DUL and you can continue to get some relief. I see you are in the UK-you can get medical THC there and I encourage you to add that so you can possibly get full relief and also sleep more. Do a search on the forum-it works great for some, esp if you get the medical marijuana. I use synthetic thc gummies (Delta 8) and they help me sleep through some rls and sleep longer. I hate to see people not sleeping as it is SO important.
hang in and thank you so much-you, too!
