I recently dislocated my shoulder. Since that happened, i noticed my rls got worse and now i get it during the day. No new meds. Could the dislocation have anything to do with this?

dislocated shoulder and rls
Yes it is possible because dislocating your shoulder can cause inflammation and that can cause RLS to get worse. Your RLS should revert to what it was before as the inflammation goes down. You could try taking some aspirin to help with the inflammation.
To reduce inflammation temporarily you could try Voltarol or one of the clones, Alonger term solution is to reduce your systemic inflammation from food, the main culprits are refined sugars and starches and refined seed oils. There are lists online for foods that cause inflammation though some include red meat which I'm not sure is true as I have been eating more red meat than I did before yet It hasn'tmade a difference to my RLS.
I definitely think that the increase in soft tissue inflammation plays a role. My neurologist is now thinking Ididn’t have augmentation from the Pramipexole (which I had taken with no issues for 6 years), but because of a severe kidney infection that kept me in bed for 7 days and a lot less mobile for another week. Once I got better, the augmentation resolved rapidly. It’s a toss up- from quitting the prami or recovery from an infection. Neurologist is wanting to try Prami again during the work week( sun- Thursday) so Ican get more than 3 hours sleep. I’m holding off looking for non medication therapies. TENS and ultra high vibration helps, as does stretching progressive relaxation, binaural beats for dopamine release etc.
