I have suffered with RLS for several decades. In desperation eight months ago I began a regimine that really works well for me.
I take 4mgs of Astaxanthin and 50 mgs of pycnoginol at lunch and another 50 mgs at dinner time. In addition, I also take 250 mgs of ashwaghanda at bedtime. This has reduced my symptoms dramatically. Some evenings I can sleep through the night and other nights the symptoms are mild but not bad enough to wake me up completely after which I go back to sleep. I would also point out that there are virtually no side effects except for the calming provided by the ashwaghanda. The pycnoginol also will reduce blood pressure as it is s good vasodilater. It has been 8 months now with consistent results.

Both Astaxanthin and Ashwaghanda have anti inflammatory effects and Pycnoginol is an antioxidant so I'm not surprised that they helped as I believe that systemic inflammation is one of the most common causes of RLS. Systemic inflammation is most commonly caused by high insulin levels due to eating processed foods (like white bread, fruit juice and sugars) or the ingestion of refined seed oils which cause oxidative stress. You could probably reduce drug use by changing your diet.

How did you arrive at this regime? I.e. what made you choose these particular supplements?
