Most GPs will prescribe tramadol for RLS, especially if you have been on it for 8 years. I suggest you register with the local GP surgery. Ask for Tramadol to be continued and if they object, ask for a referral to a neurologist.

What do you mean when you say you need to change meds? Is the tramadol no longer working or caused 'augmentation'?

Neurologists will do telephone appointments. Try Professor Walker at UCL in Queen Square London. He can swap you onto other low dose opioids.

Thanks for the reply and information yes trammadol is still working up to 250 ml hoping it will ĺast forever not sure about augmentation because as you know rls gets progressively worse over time so will probably have to switch medication. possibly methadone who knows trouble is only being able to get one months prescription at a time so coming back home and finding support in a month could be a challenge. will do as you suggested and see if l can get a result. Thanks again for your support just wish there were more informed and caring Dr's out there for this horrible condition. Kind regards to you and all those suffering Simon

It's the same here in the UK. We can only get one month of opioid meds at a time.Methadone isn't yet prescribed here. I've only heard of prisoners being prescribed it.

However, Targinact is licensed for RLS and more neurologists are prescribing Buprenorphine.

It may be difficult to register and get an appointment within a month so really hope you can get the prescription sorted quickly.
