I saw a neurologist years ago and unfortunately there was nothing he could suggest. They didn't know enough about RLS . Now there are so many suffering with RLS it is acknowledged. I have suffered for 57 years! It's got worse the older I got. Ruled my life! These last two months have been good. I went back on older prescription Pramipexole. Still Not a lot they can do except prescription drugs. And it's trial and error, it's been mostly error on my part. They still don't know enough about RLS and millions of people suffering.

I saw in your old post that you were given pregabalin. What happened with it?

Unfortunately pregabalin did not work for me. I am back and fore pramipexole and Ropinerole. If I get augmentation on pramipexole I will go back to Ropinerole. That has worked for me. For the first time in my life I am practically free of RLS.

When you say it didn't work, do you mean you had side effects or that it just didn't control your RLS?

Eilieen, sorry to hear you have been all these years with RLS. My Gp started me on Pramipexole which I could not tolerate and because my.mother who also had rls was on Ropinerole. My doc switched me to Requip. It worked for a while but it augmented and I was nearly a 4 mg a day with no relief. By chance I ended up in emergency y with a kidney stone and was infused with Morphine. For 5 days after I had no rls. I was put on low dose morphine sulphate and dropped my requip down to .50 mg a day. They seem to work together and the morphine keeps the requip from augmenting. Studies have been done where folks admitted for extreme pain are treated with morphine and coincidently find it treats their Rls .
