It is probably not the active ingredient which is causing the RLS but the sugar which is added to hide the taste. This also gives you an indication of how you can eliminate your RLD completeley, by avoiding refined sugar and refined starch.

In the past I took Azithromycin twice and I put it on my personal No Go list. My RLS flared up and even more disturbing was some sort of paresthesia in one arm and leg which lasted for quite some weeks. This is listed as a rare side effect. So when I need an antibiotic I am careful to avoid Azithromycin. But I am sure many other users do not notice this effect at all. "We are all different".

Thank you for the info!! Do you mind me asking if or what other antibiotics you have taken that do bother your legs?

I do not remember the names, various over the years for various reasons. But what I do remember is that even if some of them resulted in a few not so good nights, I could put up with it.

The RLS resulting from all other different antibiotics was not soo bad, otherwise I would have written it down - to be careful to avoid this specific antibiotic in future.

Thanks for the info, may I ask how long the uptick in symptoms lasted, if you remember? Was it like a week or two?

The especially bad nights after taking antibiotics or any other aggravating med would number to 2 or 3 nights after having stopped the med. I cannot remember a whole week, unless there are other reasons for heavier than usual nightly RLS like food triggers.
