Blood pressure meds
Some medicines that are safe for high blood pressure are propranolol (Inderal, Hemangeol, InnoPran) a beta blocker that may help RLS, Isosorbide Mononitrate (Monoket, Imdur) which is not a beta blocker nor calcium channel blocker. Other possibilities are: Clonidine (Catapres) an Alpha-2-Agonist used to treat high blood pressure which may help RLS and which also treats insomnia, tenex (Guanfacine, Intuniv), prazosin (Minipress) an alpha-adrenergic blocker that is also useful in managing sleep-related problems caused by PTSD and Tadalafil a vasodilator that in one study completely eliminated RLS. Discuss these with your doctor. And then there is reducing salt by 1 teaspoon a day nih.gov/news-events/nih-res....
Tadalafil (Cialis)Do Cialis side effects go away?
Yes, it’s possible. Most side effects of Cialis go away on their own with time. But some side effects may be long term, including the following rare side effects:
Priapism, which is an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours and won’t go away. If not treated immediately, this can cause irreversible damage to the penis, including loss of the ability to have an erection. You should get emergency medical care right away if you experience priapism.
Sudden decrease in vision or loss of vision. This can affect one or both eyes, and can be permanent.
Be careful of hidden side effects.
Beta blockers and calcium channel blockers are generally bad for RLS
Just to add: I take losartan (an angiotensin II receptor blocker - ARB) with no ill effects, although apparently some people report issues.
I was actually prescribed Metoprolol, in the very beginning. Before I was diagnosed with RLS.
It sort of, kind of help. The buzzing went down. Not a miracle.
The doctor told me it was a blood pressure medication, beta blocker. I only took 50 milligrams, but I did take it for several months. I stopped taking it when I went on Gabapentin.
The proable reason that you have high blood pressure is probably because you're eating too much sugaar and other refined carbs which are causing inflammation in the cardiovascular system. They are also causing inflammarion in your nerves and causing RLS. Salt being a cause of high blood pressure is a redd herring as you pee out any excess. The word salary comes from the Roman soldiers who were paid in part with a salt ration indicating that even they saw its imortance. Its more important to kep rhe ratio of salt to potassium correct so rather than reducing salt you should try to increase potassium. This can be done by taking suplements and many blood pressure medications do this but you can also do this by alteing your diet with salads and other potassium rich foods. Don't eat bananas because although theyr'e high in potassium they're also high in sugar.
I take Lisinopril and Amlodipine for my high BP as well as a few vitamins and have eliminsted my RLS without specific drugs by trying to lower my inflammation. youtu.be/oQVdyJCPFiM?si=ND8...
