In 2 weeks I am undergoing multiple fusions on the top of my foot with NO weight barring for 6 weeks. My leg will be in a heavy plaster also. Any advice would be gratefully accepted as I’m scared my RLS will be very very hard to manage

Operation on foot
Ensure you have all your RLS meds and the team allow you to take them. Also ensure anaesthesia team know the standard anti emetic/nausea will dramatically worsen your RLS & unless they give you a safe alternative your legs will jerk violently after the op.
I had a hernia op and was concerned.I had an appointment a few weeks before, expressed my concern and discussed it with the doctor.
On arrival for my op I discussed it with the nurse, later the anaesthetist came to see me and again went through the RLS symptoms with her, I warned her that I might violently jump around on the table even under anaesthetic.
I then had several visits and discussions up to the point where I was on the table. I had no problems whatsoever, they all took an interest and adapted the anaesthetic for my RLS. They were excellent but make sure you tell them in advance!
