NEW RLS

Hello everybody! I’m a RLS “Beginner” and would like to know if Revitive would relieve my twitchy legs. I’ve tried Ropinerale but it was a waste of time.

TIA

If Ropinerol didn't relieve your symptoms, then it is highly likely that you don't have RLS.You could try Pramipexol for a few days ,just to confirm.

What on earth could it be then? 😫

Depends on your symptoms.Possibilities could range anywhere- peripheral neuropathy, ms, diabetes or just sensitivity to some input to/ on your body. Or maybe something else altogether.🤔

When you say Ropinirole didn't work, what do you mean? What dose and how long did you take it? Usually a dopamine agonist is used to confirm diagnosis. If it stops your legs twitching and waking you up, then it confirms you have RLS.Have a look at the diagnostic criteria. The unbearable need to move is the main one.

Here's a link to the RLS diagnostic criteria. If your symptoms fit the criteria then you have RLS.

If not ALL 5 then you probably don't.

There are some tests for RLS which you could ask your doctor about.

1). dopamine test

2) histamine challenge test

1). take one or two doses of a dopamine agonist and if you have RLS then it should relieve your symptoms within hours. Pramipexole is a little stronger as Madlegs suggests.

The best dopamine test is levodopa, this can work within 15 minutes!

2). take a dose of a sedating antihistamine and if you have RLS.your symtoms should get worse.

Please be aware that drugs are not the first, or only, treatment for RLS. This is a very narrow limited approach to managing the condition.

Please also be aware that dopamine agonists are no longer recommended for RLS as the first treatment.

I suggest reading the following.

What is revitive? In Oz it's a leg muscle activity machine thingy.

Same here in the UK. It's a round device that makes your muscles twitch. Used to increase circulation in the lowere limbs & feet. Made my RLS worse so sold it on an internet site.
