Skullcap for RLS

I have been having solid results using skullcap (American or Chinese and up to 3 grams nightly) in addition to 100 MG of tramadol.

I have idiopathic RLS and SIBO and have tried just about everything I could over the last 35 years. It was quite normal for me to average 3hrs of sleep per night, so I find the treatment remarkable to say the least. Skullcap is very sedating so if you try it, be aware that you should not drive while using it.

I hope this helps someone as much as it has helped me.

I use dried herbs capsules however it is available as tea as well. I have not tried the tea yet. I use approx 2 to 3 grams each night.

I found it in a tincture. While I was traveling, I stopped in at an apothecary. I don't remember the name of the apothecary, but a google search for apothecaries that sell Skullcap might prove helpful. I do remember it is pretty gnarly tasting. I accidently discovered that when trying to swallow horrible tasting liquid supplements, adding lemon juice helps. Contrary to logic.

I haven't tried the tincture yet but they usually taste terrible. Still having better than good results with skullcap tho. Surprisingly.

The truth is, I was at my wits end with loss of sleep and constant rigidity and crawling. I prayed to God for help, I was officially desperate and helpless. As soon as I walked into the supplement shop for a vitamin b purchase, I was approached by the associate working who suggested skullcap for sleep. I don't know how to say this, but I've never felt as much relief from anything else I've ever used. I've never in 35 years felt my legs stop moving like this. I didn't even know how much movement I was living with until I tried skullcap.

It may not work for everyone as is weirdly true with RLS, but hope springs eternal, literally, and in my case, praise the lord.

I've honestly never felt this much relief from anything I've taken previously and I have RLS every night.

I was on 200 mg of Tramodol for five years and now my new doctor has cut me back to 150 mg for the last two months. I might look into skullcap as going down to 150 has not always worked for me.

Worth a try. Skullcap has made a huge difference for me. Tramadol, while still necessary, doesn't do quite enough.

Thanks for this.

Wow, so interesting, Rosyrestless1!! My daughter just asked me if I was familiar with Skullcap, and I said no. As I was googling it, she sent me this link to healthcunlocked, which I've followed for about a year and have gotten amazing advice! Last night, after a miserable week of RLS and about 2-3 hours of sleep/night (I swear the moon has been full at least 4 nights....I've gone outside in the middle of the night to check it out, and it seemed full each night. I've notice often that my RLS is worse then, but don't know if it's for real or merely a coincidence. Anyway, I found a Tramodol from last winter when my then doctor was trying different drugs on me. It didn't seem to work, but last night I got 4-5 hours of sleep. I will DEFINITELY track down Skullcap and give it a try. I've been on sooo many drugs for the last 25 years!
