Sorry. Sounds awful. Only chip I've heard about is a Vagus nerve implant that they use for depression among other things. Not sure if that's the kind of chip your thinking of. Curious, was it the Tramadol keeping you up or coming off Tramadol?
Tramadol had always caused poor sleep, but got to the stage after 18 years I didn’t sleep at all for 2 weeks. So am trying Sifrol once again, but the withdrawal from Tramadol is horrendous. According to my GP there is an implant as a last resort. I was taking 200-250 mg Tramadol a day.
I found Tramadol withdrawal absolute hell too. I was on 400 mg a day at one time, originally for sciatica. Eventually I’d cut it down to about 250 mg a day which I was stuck with taking due to the effects on my RLS if I didn’t take it. A couple of years ago I finally weaned off it, with the help of my GP. 8 months later and I still couldn’t sleep and my RLS had spread to my left arm, neck, base of my spine when I’d only originally had it in my legs. Gave up and was prescribed Pregabalin. So now take 100 mg a day. It’s helped with the insomnia, but only takes the edge off the RLS. Wish I’d never been given Tramadol.
I'm so sorry you are suffering. I have taken Tramadol for years.Periodically tolerance kicks in and it stops working. I take a drug holiday fir a month and it kicks back in again. Good luck.I hope you find relief. X
