Anyone have experience on how psilocybin may effect RLS

I'm looking to give psilocybin a try for my treatment resistant depression. My big concern is that it regulates seretonin. I've always had a bad reaction to any drug which uses seretonin as it's mechanism of action. Makes my legs go crazy. So I suspect this may as well. The evidence on psilocybin is that the antidepressant effect can last months. Yet, i would assume if I had any increase in RLS it would only last the 6 to 8 hours of the trip itself. Anyone know anything?

Weighing the whole risk/reward thing.

I've no experience of psilocybin, but logically if the effect only lasts a few hours then any effect it has on your RLS will be temporary.

The potential anti-depressive effects of psilocybin are more psychological than physiological so please be careful. I hope you're taking it under supervision.

From my experience of LSD, decades ago, it's potentially harmful in the wrong circumstances.

There is lots of info out there on the benefits of micro-dosing Psilocybin - here's a clinic that actually offers it. It also seems that Johns Hopkins University (also a leading research for RLS) is a leading research hospital for low dose Psilocybin research...

If anyone has any experience I’d love to hear too... I’ve heard it can help and heard it can also increase.

I can't comment on psilocybin but have been reading about Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (RTMS) for RLS / PLMD. Apparently it can be effective for treatment resistant depression. Possibly something to keep up your sleeve.

Yeah. I tried a thirty six course treatment series of TMS. No luck with the depression. Didn't effect my RLS either way, although I was kinda hoping some side benefit. Also have done ECT. Same results. The Ketamine nasal spray worked for a little bit but then petered out. So yeah, I'm turning over all the rocks. It's either fight or give up. Still fighting.

Sorry to hear that the TMS didn't work for you. Or ECT. Hopefully you find something that does work real soon! I like your 'still fighting' attitude 😀
