Hi , can l ask a question about my strange leg sensations please?
I have been waking up in the middle of the night to what l can only describe as a buzzing feeling in the bed that l feel in my thighs and l have been blaming the hubby for weeks. He gets tense and restless in bed so l thought it was him. I have felt the floor the bed and the furniture and him while he sleeps. And l cannot feel this buzzing however l have started to notice the strange buzzing in my thighs during the day so it must be me !
My mam has restless leg syndrome l really don’t want it .
Do you have to move your legs? If it’s RLS the urge to move is impossible to ignore. You have to lie there constantly moving your legs or get up and walk about. If you’re able to get back to sleep without moving- it’s not RLS.
I'm able to sleep. I do suffer from anxiety and get crawling sensation in legs when anxiety comes on or when very tired then l have to move around. But this l don't. I can feel it now in my thighs trembling, it's really strange but I'm not anxious however it is waking me.
Sounds more like a nervous tic/twitch. If you’re able to stay still while it’s happening then it doesn’t sound like RLS. Maybe try some magnesium as that calms down muscle twitches.
It doesn't sound particularly like RLS.
One way to tell is to compare your symptoms to the RLS diagnostic criteria. If your symptoms fit ALL the criteria then you probably have RLS. If any one doesn't fit, then you don't.
From what you say it doesn't seem as if you do fit the criteria.
