Analgesics - The beauty and the beast

After a few months in a most terrible place with RLS, I'm happy to report nearly zero symptoms for a month now. This all started when I was prescribed various analgesics to manage back-pain and with each drug I started to suffer RLS when the daily dose was increased to twice or more per day, and then the RLS disappears when I take one or less doses per day. When I do get an attack of RLS, I found that my Tramadol, the latest in a long line of drugs, worked quite well to lessen the outbreak and allow some rest - if not proper sleep. But then If I take Tramadol again during the day to combat back-pain, then the RLS cycle kicks in and we're back to square one! So now I've made some life changes to manage the back-pain with far fewer analgesic medication and RLS is just a bad memory. Someone on this helpful site suggested this might be my problem and for that I am enormously grateful.
