I didn’t want to have to go down the drugs from the doctors, so decided to go natural.
I am now taking height strength magnesium, vitaminD and Iron , which has started to help , then I found out that I was low on sodium in my diet . Adding a bit more salt is really helping and I had a much better sleep last night .
I have to stay off caffeine and Chocolate as they are massive triggers and the spasms can be very violent ...

Well done, Mouso. It is very advisable to stick to the 'natural' approaches for as long as you can. Treatment with medicines is always a last resort.
Have you looked into iron? It is one of the major factors in RLS and you may benefit from raising your iron, especially your ferritin (stored iron). RLS is thought to be due to brain iron deficiency, which can occur even though the usual iron values are 'normal'. If you search the forum for RLS and iron you will find loads of posts and replies explaining about it and providing information on how to read your blood iron values (get the actual results!) and how best to raise iron, if needed.
Good luck. I hope you can keep the RLS and the medicines to treat it at bay.
I am beginning to think there is something to the combination of Vitamin D and iron. It seems to be better than just iron. As for the salt, when I work out, I do think it helps.
I am glad you found something that works. Remember it takes time, I mean months and years to see the full benefits, so hang in there.
Hi Mouso, see my post on the natural remedies like mag, vit b6, Restiffic foot wraps and horse chestnut drops that sometimes give me reasonable relief but nothing seems to be a lasting solution. Just thank God for any respite! I need to look into ferritin according to these posts.
