Hello again - have to stop meeting like this.

pycnogenol, I read, isn't claimed to have any benefit for RLS, however it's claimed that it helps with high BP.

Like all these "natural" remedies for which claims are made, there is no actual evidence that they do anything. Pycnogenol apparently may do no harm. You could try it and see if it brings your BP down. If it does work, it may just be a placebo effect OR it may be the medication that's working.

I would certainly not recommend stopping the amlodopine and replacing it with a tree bark!

Thank you again..

Yes..I know pynogenol is quite expensive.. and who knows if it could work and as you say probably has side effects too...

I'm thinking along the lines that restless legs caused the blood pressure..so need to tackle the legs first I suppose..

So wish there was a doctor or specialist in restless legs syndrome out there to have faith in..

Thank you again Minerva..

Best wishes

This looks similar to Diosmin, which also claims to improve circulation. I tried it and it did nothing.

Unfortunately it can turn into a ‘pays your money and takes your chances’ with numerous supplements collected and tested over time. Being on the low oxalate bandwagon, still dumping with variable symptoms, my view of supplements has changed.

Magnesium, other that chelate, combined with potassium is probably the best starting point. You have to be careful with potassium by starting with 100mg capsules building the dose until you know that you can handle higher amounts. Then move to powder with small ‘drug dealer’ scales for 1 gm doses taken with magnesium.

I have tried a few different types of potassium, with potassium chloride KCl giving the best energy boost and best sleep at 1 gm first thing in the morning and before bed.

Citrate is also worth exploring through lemon juice or Garcinia cambogia capsules. If oxalates are an issue the citrate will clear your kidneys, but it can make things worse if it causes oxalates to be released.

Thank you so much..

I will make a note of the things you say..

I didn't realize citrate was good for restless legs..

I'll try the small amount of potassium..

I must be careful of kidneys though.

Thank you so much.
