Bloody legs
Hi, where are you? When you wrote this, it was about 5pm here. Most folks on this site live in the UK, so you'll have to take account of the time difference.
No I've never punched my legs or thought if cutting them off.
Sounds like your RLS is out of control.
What do you do, apart from showers, to relieve your symptoms?
Hi there LEEANNE
Just wondering if you have tried a bath instead of Showers
Once upon a time Showers worked for me too
On the Shower Rose there is usually a dial for the Jet. So one hand I would be holding Shower other hand punching the Legs. So yes I have done it b4
Shower
I have found that every day when I get home I need to run a hot bath. Sit in the bath for over 30 mins just soaking my legs. I get out n within 30 mins they are off again So then I run another bath. I have found over time if I try to get out sooner than 30 minutes then the legs will start up a lot quicker . Sometimes I get away with 2 baths a day but they really make me feel very nauseated. After 2nd bath I need to get my hot water bottles n toss them around in bed. Sometimes this works n I get away with 2 baths, other times it doesn’t so I have to run another. Just thought maybe this might be worth trying. Good Luck
Beat them, I have, not proud of it. It didn't help and I doubt it would help you, but I certainly understand. I do have a roller. Or have used a hard foam roller a LOT, to the point of pain and my muscles are sore. No bruises though.
My RLS is mostly under control now. I still have it, everyday, but it is livable.
What else are you doing for your RLS? How long have you had it?
Hi Leanne
Yes, I frequently punch, or thump, my legs when it’s really bad. The relief is only momentary though, isn’t it.
Yes I have on a few occasions and I do mean punch, anything to give distraction even if its momentary. I fully understand your frustration. I hope you can find a solution so as to just have peace for yourself. Good luck and take care. I'm always reading this forum it makes me feel unalone with this affliction. Your not alone.☘
I find that hot baths work also going for a walk barefoot on cold preferably moist grass. Another little trick I have is putting a very course old bath mat under my legs. The coarse texture gives me something to rub against. Nothing more irritating than very smooth sheets.
Walking, hot water bottle & ice gel packs alternative days... and combine the above with massage and definitely give acupuncture a go.
Fires up the nerves with oxygen & blood... helps healing.
I use neupro patch
