Hi Mysty.
What OTC medicines are you taking?
3 times a week is really just on the cusp of the difference between mild or intermittent RLS and severe pr persistent RLS.
It's probaly a good idea to try non pharmacological measures for you RLS first.
Here's a link to some information that might help
healthunlocked.com/rlsuk/po...
something I wrote earlier.
Here's a lnk to an up to date overview of RLS management
uptodate.com/contents/treat...
I hope this helps
Thank you Manerva zI have bern RESTLEGS , OTC. I will check tbe links you sent, anything will be a good help,
I feel wore out from this. Thanks again
Hi mystygirl and welcome.
Have you had blood tests? The most common cause of RLS is low iron in the brain and raising serum ferritin above 100 ( preferably above 300) and serum iron above 60 will help 50% of sufferers.
Read the links Manerva has posted. The more you read about RLS, the more you will be able to discover what will work for you.
Thanks Joolsg, I haven't had bloodwork, going to check the links Manerva sent
Glad O founf this site. Do you.kmow what diet there is for RLS? Thank you
I’ve followed every diet recommended for RLS for extensive time periods ( years) and no diet has made the slightest difference.
However, everyone is different and everyone will react differently. Some swear by low FODMAPS, others by low oxalate, others by low carb.
If you want to try diet, keep a diary and note any triggers.
Sorry you are so worn out. I appreciate how lack of sleep can be both physically and emotionally draining.
There are, I believe quite a few "remedies" that can be bought over the counter that claim to help with restless legs. I'm afraid that they're rarely mentioned in this forum which probably indicates they're not much use. I wouldn't expect too much then from.what you're trying.
I can understand if you wish to get immediate reluef from a femedy. I'm afraid most non medical remedies either take quite a time to have effect or may give immediate relief, but only for a short time.
It is worth trying however, but if the symptoms do progress tp occurring every night then at some point you might have to consider taking a medicine.
I would give that careful thought after reading further information about the options.
I think the diets are mentioned in the link I gave you.

Your OTC is perhaps Rested Legs? It does contain iron (5mg), Magnesium, Potassium, Folic Acid and Valerian Root and Chamomile. Not a bad formula actually. You might want to get tested for iron (Ferritin) levels and up your iron with Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelate. Here's info on Rested Legs... restedlegs.com/
