Are there any prescription antihistamines I should avoid because of restless legs or because I am taking gabapentin?

I know that cetirizine and (des)loratadine are safe anti histamines. The former is shorter acting, the latter longer acting. There may be others.

I already take loratadine and have been for years, but I still have watery eyes and drippy nose all day so want to ask for something stronger, ie a prescription one.

I see. Sorry to hear about your continuing symptoms. They are a nuisance; actually more than that.

You might try some natural anti-histamines like Vitamin C, Quercetin, and Bromelain...

I use Zertec in AM with no problems!

I have tried Zertec too. Doesn't help. I need a prescription one.

I’ve taken generic Allegra for years

"Claritin has been shown to provide more overall symptom relief compared to Allegra." I'm taking claritin and it is not enough. I need a prescription one.

I’ve been told that Allegra is more effective than Claritin and that Zyrtec is even better. I don’t know which is true.

Hi, I have terrible allergies and it seemed all the antihistamines made my RLS worse. Until I found prescription Azelastine it's a nasal spay. I haven't had one symptom while using it. Very effective and I have been using it for years now. The only draw back is it tastes a but like stale beer if it runs down the back of your throat.

Oh - that's interesting. I'm beginning to think that OTC antihistamine could be the culprit which has triggered my RLS. I've made a note of the nasal spray as I'll ask for this if my RLS returns next hayfever season. Thank you for sharing this.
