Antidepressant safe for RLSSufferers
The only one I know is Bupropion. This is branded as Wellbutrin in the USA, it's not really available as an antidepresant in the UK so I don't know if it's available in Oz.
I belive there are others, but I can't recall them.
I always say that antidepressants are only a short term measure for depression/Anxiety and CBT or mindfulness CBT are a more effective long term solution.
Also trazodone. Check rlshelp.org. I think there is also info on rls-uk.org?
I had a depressive episode in 1996 and the put me on Prozac. For the first time in my life, I felt normal. I found that over a couple of year, my RLS increased rapidly. My physician took me off if it and started me on bupoprian XL (Wellbutrin XL). I do not feel as well but I at least do not get depressed. It is the difference between feeling warm and fuzzy or cold and prickly. My RLS decreased back to what it was, I do miss the Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors like Prozac but it is what it is. I tried to go back on it but my RLS went through the roof.
Yes, Wellbutrin
