Flu injection

On Friday i had my flu injection that night i had the worst RLS ever, having to look for work in my flat to keep moving, then standing to see a bit of tv, walking the corridors at 3 in the morning, with no relief, eventually getting to sleep about 4 then hit again so had to get up, butd did respond to the medicines and prayer. I just wondered if anyone had a reaction when they got their flu injection. Thank you everyone for your input, uplifting responses, encouragement and great information , dont knpow what i would do without this forum, lots of love Grannyh Phyl.

I read last week of a lady saying the same but can't say that I have noticed a worsening of RLS in the past after the flu jab. I have mine in a couple of weeks so will let you know! X

I had my flu jab last week, no effect whatsoever. Please don’t be afraid to get your vaccination, it’s important

thank you for your reply, i am sure it was not as a result of the injection, as no one else has had that happen, i have had it alreadyh, so dont worry, i M 76 SO IT IS IMPORDTANT TO US GOLDEN OLDIES, HOW SWEET OF YOU TO CARE THANK YOU

Sorry you had this reaction. It may be that some "excipient" in the injection (substances other than the active ingredient e.g. a preservative) may be a trigger for you. I had my jab last Friday, no reaction.

Or it could have been coincidence?

in reply toLapsedrunner

Which is probably more likely!

You may very well be sensitive to one of more of the ingredients in the flu shot.. Sime multidose vials contain thimerosal which is 50 % mercury and a potent neurotoxin. You could be sensitive.

Influenza (Fluarix) Trivalent & Quadrivalent

octoxynol-10 (TRITON X-100), α-tocopheryl hydrogen succinate, polysorbate 80 (Tween 80), hydrocortisone, gentamicin sulfate, ovalbumin, formaldehyde, sodium deoxycholate, sodium phosphate-buffered isotonic sodium chloride

Influenza (Flublok) Trivalent & Quadrivalent

sodium chloride, monobasic sodium phosphate, dibasic sodium phosphate, polysorbate 20 (Tween 20), baculovirus and Spodoptera frugiperda cell proteins, baculovirus and cellular DNA, Triton X-100, lipids, vitamins, amino acids, mineral salts

Influenza (Flucelvax) Trivalent & Quadrivalent

Madin Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cell protein, protein other than HA, MDCK cell DNA, polysorbate 80, cetyltrimethlyammonium bromide, and β-propiolactone

Influenza (Flulaval) Trivalent & Quadrivalent

ovalbumin, formaldehyde, sodium deoxycholate, α-tocopheryl hydrogen succinate, polysorbate 80, thimerosal (Mercury)(multi-dose vials)

Influenza (Fluvirin)

ovalbumin, polymyxin, neomycin, betapropiolactone, nonylphenol ethoxylate, thimerosal (Mercury)

Influenza (Fluzone) Quadrivalent

formaldehyde, egg protein, octylphenol ethoxylate (Triton X-100), sodium phosphate- buffered isotonic sodium chloride solution, thimerosal (mercury)(multi-dose vials), sucrose.

I think you are being unnecessarily alarmist Goldy700, not all long chemical names are harmful (alpha tocopherol hydrogen succinate contains vit E and is a powerful antioxidant!)

I must also point out that in the UK thiomersal (aka thimerosal) has not been used in vaccines for some time

Goldy700 profile image
Goldy700 in reply toLapsedrunner

Not trying to be alarmist - but for those who live in the USA it would be good if they have the single dose flu vaccine as the multidose vial can contain the Mercury containing thimerosal. Always good to check the full ingredient list in vaccines.

thank you Goldy 700, you are of course right with that advice, one chould always check

Apparently the amount mercury is comparable to a can of tuna

Goldy700 profile image
Goldy700 in reply toLapsedrunner

I am not anti vaccine but very careful to check ingredients and avoid neurotoxic ones. When ingested, most of the mercury in tuna does not enter the body, but passes out in the stool. The mercury that does absorb is metabolized as methylmercury (meHG). Absorbing through the gut, first through the liver. This is called “First Pass”. The mercury going through the liver is conjugated by glutathione, then that conjugated glutathione is passed out in bile and then the stool.

When injected it is metabolized (converted) into the more toxic and harmful methylmercury. Because it is injected, it avoids the ‘first pass’ through the liver where it could be filtered, instead it circulates throughout all the other tissues and organs. Mercury has a high affinity (binds well with) certain tissues, including neurological tissue, brain, kidneys, etc. So, in short then, the most harmful, long-term-toxic mercury is retained in the bodily tissue (Dr. Paul G. King)

Further, “(mercury) injection is distributed primarily in the central nervous system, kidneys, liver, and skin. Mercury crosses the blood brain barrier and the placenta; infants and the fetus are the most at risk for toxicity to occur. Mercury exposure by expecting mothers has been shown to cause neurological abnormalities. Infants exposed in utero to mercury have shown developmental delays. In addition, the possibility of a link between mercury exposure and neurological disorders such as autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder has been evaluated.

GOLDY 700, A VERY CONCISE EXPLAINATION, AND MAKES A LOT OF SENSE, I THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TIME TAKEN TO ANSWER SO WELL. LOVE AND HUGS

Flu vaccines contain some pretty unpleasant substances, including substances that should not ever be in the brain. Aluminium is in the flu vaccine.

These heavy metals are there to create a massive immune response. This means inflammation.

It is possible that your brain has been insulted in some way, and you are one of the unlucky ones.

Personally, I steer clear of flu vaccines for precisely this reason. An RLS brain has enough to cope with.

thank you parminter, certainly something to consider in the future,

Flame, do read Lapsed Runner's critique and my answer. We are both correct in our different ways.

But if you have a flu jab again next season, and the same thing happens, then you may be vulnerable. So talk to your doctor about your concerns.

I hope you recover quickly.

Sorry Parminter, I really don’t agree. Flu has some pretty nasty side effects eg death for the elderly, immunocompromised, the very young etc.

Parminter profile image
Parminter in reply toLapsedrunner

Yes, of course, there are ifs and buts. I am not an anti-vaxxer, but I am well aware that I already have a brain full of lead, mercury and aluminium, and I am paying for it. I don't want any more, and I am lucky enough to have a very strong immune system.

I just wish there was a way to discover who is vulnerable to adjuvants and adjust treatment accordingly. But so long as there is a denial of the possible harms of adjuvants this can not happen.

Never had worse RLS after a flu jab, but have had flu twice in the past and thought i was dying, Will take the flu jab over actual flu any time,.

I had my flu vaccine yesterday and had a similar reaction. Very bad RLS which is still not completely gone.

Yes had flu and covid jab together yesterday and legs have been even worse than usual - could be coincidence but I was concerned enough to look it up.

I didn't connect the two until I read your post, but YES! The last two nights have been a struggle and I received my flu shot on Sunday. I work in a hospital so it is a requirement.
