Easiest way to come of neupro patches?

Nobody seems to be answering you!
I've never used Neupro patches myself, nut I guess the way to come off them is the same process as coming off tablets.
To be honest, I don't think there is an "easy" way.
With tablets you reduce the dose gradually. Different people have different ideas about how gradual that should be.
That means reducing the dose by a set amount at a set interval. How many intervals there are depends on what dose you're reducing from.
E.g. I was taking 0.54 mg Pramipexole and I reduced it in steps of 0.044 mg, each in a one month interval. That's VERY slow!
It was made easier by the fact that tablets come in different sizes and you can cut the tablets in halves (or quarters) without any risk.
Patches, I do beliee, come in different doses. However, I 'm not sure if it's safe to cut a patch. You'd have to check that.
SERIOUSLY, check it. n
If you cut some drug patches, it destroys the release mechanism . With these, if you cut a 24hour patch in half, you get half the fose, BUT you might get that half dose all at once instead of over 24 hours. That could be an overdose!
The other two things are.
a) you will most likely need something to replace the Neupro
b) you will most likely have withdrawal symptoms and may need some help with those.
I hope that's a starter, and others with direct experience will respond.
I was out of action yesterday and the day before and not doing so well today, but i will answer as i have seen this now. You can cut the patches safely. i have done it before when i was using the patch and i THINK Dr. B has even said it can be done. You decrease the patch slowly just as you would if your were weaning off a DA tablet. So try half a patch for a couple of weeks at the least maybe more if you find you need more time before you reduce again, you will experience withdrawals, so as most who wean off a DA a pain med is best to take if you can get your doctor to prescribe one, most take Tramadol. Also as Manerva has said, you need to decide what med you are going to replace the patch with. Discuss all this with your doctor. Just dont replace it with another DA. Good luck,
Thanks
A strong opioid.
Not much of a reply but I am just being a bit nosey about why you are coming off Neupro. I ask because I use a 2 mg patch with a couple of other things but I think Neupro works well
I guessed that was the reason. I am nervous about augmentation because of the cocktail I have. Still if it happens it happens and I deal with it then
