My RLS has become worse!!

From all I've read here, people's RLS gets better with passing weeks of the withdrawals. For me, it has been a reverse case. While the initial weeks weren't so bad, the last week or so has been horrible. I remember even during the withdrawal period that I slept for 4hours straight or on some good days,6 hours as well. However,in the last week or so, my RLS has become relentless. This is probably the worst phase of the withdrawal or the new permanent for me. 150mg lyrica, 50mg tram I even took Ibuprofen to find some relief but none whatsoever.

Ibuprofen, would do nothing for RLS. Taking more than 50mgs Tramadol might be more helpful.

Hello Heatherlss,

After I got over the DA withdrawal, I had to gradually increase my Lyrica dose to 300, supplemented by 150 of slow release Tramadol and another 50 of Tramadol if breakthrough occurred during the night. The doctor said that 150 of Lyrica was too small to be effective. Sometimes I took Cocodamol during the night instead of the extra Tramadol.

This more or less worked for 3 years until I got used to the Lyrica. I am now on the Neupro patch and Tramadol.

I’ll probably go back onto Lyrica at some point as I worry about augmentation

I hope this helps.

Unfortunately like withdrawing from any of these nasty medications...the lower the dose one gets to, the more difficult it is. I am using a Compounding Pharmacist to get lower doses of Sifrol/Mirapex to help the process but it's still very difficult. I live in Australia and unsure what Compounding Pharmacist availability is in other countries. Some years ago I took Lyrica for few months only and had to wean off by taking bits out of the capsules. All the best.

I am unlucky here in the sense that none of the docs I've met so far are acknowledging that there is something called Alpha-2 delta ligands which are supposed to help in RLS if used at the right dose. I've seen 4 neurologists so far (one of them today) and the recurring theme continues to be that you either take ropark or pramipex. Dare I say a word about what I've been reading and know because we are not allowed to look up for our diseases on the web.

I feel exhausted.
