Is it worth having one night on a DA just to get some rest?

Hi again, I'm just wondering if it's possible to 'safely' use a Neupro patch for one night? I'm feeling really unwell and my legs aren't behaving and wondered about using a patch just for one night? I haven't used any DAs for months now and would love to be able to lie down and just go to sleep?

I have done that in the past with no ill effects - so long as you've used them before then there shouldn't be any nasty surprises.

Thanks Raffs. It just seems to be an option that one night occasionally would be wonderful, especially as I feel so unwell. There would be NO concerns about wanting to take it for even a week as I have augmented in that time previously on DAs. Just one night....

I don't think there's any such thing as "DA police" who come and arrest you if you're caught taking a DA, so if it works for you, then it is your choice.

Logically, as the patches are slow release, it takes a longer time to achieve an effective level in your blood. I believe about six hours which compared to a tablet only about 1.5 to 2 hours, so you'd have to take that into account. i.e. put the patch on about 6 hours before you want to sleep.

It might be better to take a small dose tablet e.g. Pramipexole.

Thank you! I really don't want to make anything harder in the long run and as I've had good effects with the first doses of DAs then I hope it would work. I just need to sleep. Thank you for the advice Manerva.

Why are you not on the patch any longer? My experience was very hopeful at first with a 10 mg patch then at 2 mg patch and finally just making me sick. What is that about?

I was only on them for two weeks before I augmented. I was on the 2 mg patch. From what I have read, I would think 10 mg is way too high???
