This has helped my restless legs

Because of the exorbitant price of the relaxis pad, I came up with my own version that works pretty good. I bought a foam back roller on Amazon ($26 USD) that vibrates. I place it at the foot of my bed under the blankets and I press my feet against it which sends gentle vibrations up my legs helping stop the sensation to move them. The only downside is that it runs off of batteries and so they need to be replaced often. Even when it’s not turned on, just pressing my feet against it seems to help. I also purchased an electric vibrating back pad that I can use in a similar way. Another RLS sufferer had said that they had purchased on Amazon a massaging sunbeam heating pad for $30 USD. Might be worth a try!

Any vibrating/ massaging implement seems to help. They can be purchased quite cheaply on line or at fairs.

The ones I have are mains operated.

Good for muscle aches as well.

Mains operated vibrators - I hope you all appreciate the fact that I am saying nothing, nothing at all about MAINS OPERATED VIBRATORS (or 'implements as Madlegs1 tries to disguise them).

To the OP - congratulations on finding something that works for you and even better saving yourself $$$$$ in the process.

Oh indeed I can vibrate - even on the nights my legs are quiet, ( and if my Mrs allows).

Do you use these without meds Madlegs? Can you recommend a make?x

I quite often tinker with simple electronic circuits. With a soldering iron, a glue gun, sticky pvc tape and an old mains adapter you can turn a battery powered device into a mains powered device.

The mains adapter does have to be the same voltage as the batteries it's replacing or higher. If it's higher then it will need another little circuit to reduce the voltage.

(Instructions available on request).

It's a cheap way, and recycles old stuff, to turn a battery powered vibrator into a mains powered one.

I haven't a clue what Madlegs and Raffs are thinking.

Yeah- Roight!😆

@jumpey - I'm using a long handled hammer type thumper that has 2 speeds. It's about 40 cm long. I bought it at a Brighter Homes exhibition. I imagine they are on sale in health shops or ebay or whatever yardsales area you have wherever you live. (Done Deal here in Ireland)

Good luck all.

Off subject completely, but you are knowledgeable in matters medical.

How the hell do I get pneumonia in the middle of the hottest summer on record.?

3 of my family have got it at the same time. One common denominator was that 2 of us travelled by Emirates long haul through Dubai, and got sick almost immediately.

Any thoughts? Much appreciated.

Pneunomia is caused usually by a bacteria. Someone on the plane may have had pneunomia in its infectious (-ive?) state. And the air in a plane gets circulated.... As to the third person in your family - through you?

Yes- that seems to be the most likely.

It is responding really well to Augmentin. ( Not the other augmenting 🤣🤣😜)

Thanks.

Get well soon. Pneunomia can be nasty.

in reply to Madlegs1

pneumococcal pneumonia, is, as Lotte says, a bacterial infection. It can be spread by "droplet" infection. If you've been in close contact with a sufferer, bacteria are carried in the air in water droplets an infected person breathes out. As Lotte also says, air in a plane is recirculated.

Hopefully the condition responded to antibiotics and hope you and family are OK, pneumonia can be very nasty.

Thanks, Manerva, that's the most likely route. Getting better now- but very slow.

The stronger the vibrations the faster the relieve. I stand with my knees bent on the Clear Fit vibro plate machine on it's highest speed. 3 minutes and my legs vibrate in a different, pleasant way, I easily can go back to sleep.
