Good news at last

I recently had a blood test after 3 mths of taking iron tablets Yesterday my G,P rang to tell me the result. My Ferritin level had gone up from 45 to 95 which was really good news. My RLS has felt a lot better recently so I am going to take the iron for another 3 mths to see if the level will go even higher. This means I will not need an iron infusion.. Good Luck to everyone out there

This is great news in two ways

1. You have real relief from your RLS and are much better off.

2. I think this suggests that your RLS is definitely related to iron so if your RLS doesn't go way completely in three months you have a good argument to get an iron infusion with a high expectation that you will have no more symptoms.

Keep up the iron tablets and we all hope to hear that you are free of RLS by Queen's Birthday!

Thank you for that information, my ferritin was 23, went on iron tablets, after a month went to 27, l was refused an iron infusion and told to have levels checked in 3 months, which is around the 8th of April, so lm keeping my fingers crossed. Though l must say l feel much better, thanks again

Hi there If your Ferritin level doesn't improve to the point of it being around or over 100 you should try and insist on an iron infusion Good luck
