Ok, my Ropinirole and Meloxicam. Has obviously reached it's demise. Must be in Augmentation. Dr. Put me on .05 a few years ago went to 2 about a year ago and now the doc wants me on three. I go to the Neurologist the end of the month. It used to kick in about 6 p.m. now it kicks in at noon.😬😣. Any suggestions on how to go to something else. Driving me crazy!

Well whatever you decide do not let your neurologist increase the ropinirole or put you on another dopamine drug!

You need to come off the ropinirole which will be difficult but lots of us have done it. Very often with the help of something like Tramadol. That really helped me, it would have been impossible without. I’m now on Pregabalin and I’ve got my life back.

Read the above link for alternatives and make sure you educate yourself. You can’t rely on your neurologist knowing much!

Good luck, Pam

Augmentation is a nightmare, If you see the neurologist at end on month, can you ring there secretary for advice, as a temporary you would need to check with GP you could use codiene or co-codamol. My neurologist has me on pregablin 25mgs at 12-00hrs then 75mgs at 6 & 10pm along with pramipexole at 10pm& codiene 30mgs 10pm, I also have 15gs to take if I have any breakthrough problems but I have had most of the other drugs now, comming of any of these drugs takes time then titrating also takes time. I hope you get sorted, but increasing isn't answer.cheers shakey 52

I was in augmentation from ropinirole and I found a great supplement to reduce the amount of medication I was taking. I was up to 3mg a day and now down to 1.5. Started with a supplement from the UK that gives you a step down program to reduce the Ropinirole. I am now on Seratame which helps and with some cranial sacral bodywork, I have limited episodes now and for years it was a daily struggle.

Think it’s the Seratame mentioned in the post. It’s Magnesium Malate/passion flower/ vit D/ vit K2 and turmeric in a tablet.

It may help some people??

I don't know where my 1st post went. I was typing and it simply disappeared off the page. I was writing about all the work the RLS Foundation is doing in Washington DC re opiods for chronic RLS sufferers. They are working on legislator and senators and asked that we do the same either in person or by letter because there are 50 bills coming up regarding opiods. They are trying to get pain medication for the likes of us to be turned over to NIH and they want us to be able to have what we and our doctors feel we need. Actually, I used to get low dose Oxycodon 5mg 325 Tylenol and I would be pain free most of the day, especially in the evening and night. My primary cut me to one a day and now I have to chose what part of the day I want to be pain free. I have a new primary doctor I see in March so I hope he is more educated in the needs of RLS sufferers. Good luck to everyone and I hope you go to the internet and look up "Restless legs syndrome fundation blog". I feel more hope now than I did before reading this 4 page information sheet. I had no idea they were doing so much. Good luck everyone.
