Almost a miracle to me

I have, l believe, written about Sifrol. I have been on this now for about a month and l cannot believe the difference it has made to my life. I am on 1.05mg. I take one a day, at the same time every day. I can now sit and watch TV, relaxed and comfy. I sleep well, no jumpy legs!! Just the loo visit once a night. Ask your doctor for this, it really is incredible. I have an acquaintance, recently met, to thank for this and l am so grateful to her. Remember to take the tablet at the same time each day. It works!!!

That's brilliant.

I don't know if sifrol is the same strength as Mirapex, but if it is, then you are well above the max dose for rls.

I hope I'm wrong.

I'm sure someone else will come on to put me right.😁

Cheers.

Thanks for sharing again. Just heed my remark in response to your previous posting about this. Do NOT increase if it ceases to be efficient. I hope it lasts, for very long, if not ‘forever’.

Be very careful. It would appear you may already have augmented on ropinirole and the neupro patch and this is another dopamine drug. The dose you are on is already well above the recommended one. Madlegs and LotteM are right - do NOT be tempted to increase the dose under any circumstances.

I hope it lasts a long time for you but experiences on here would say otherwise.

Good luck, Pam

The starting dose of Sifrol is 0.125mg, and they also make 0.25mg and 1.0mg.

So this is difficult to understand - do they make 0.50 mg?

If they do, and you are taking 0.50mg, Madlegs is correct, that is a high dose and it could lead, quite fast, to augmentation.

Please double-check, and read up on augmentation.

If you are indeed on 0.50mg, please attempt to lower the dose.

It is indeed a miraculous drug, but it is full of potential harms. Take care.

I started on 0.125mg Sifrol. Increased to 0.25 when stopped working. This is the most my doctor in Australia will prescribe. This is why I then researched and found he was correct. I then went to a Naturopath and having a lot of success without going on any of the other drugs people try. Much safer route .... Enjoy the Sifrol while it works. I understand how you feel having relief as I was the same.

I took Sifrol but it only helped for a few months. I’ve been on carbidopa/levodopa for the past 18 months and it has helped a lot. When it doesn’t kick in right away, I use CBD oil.

I am sure you are being inundated with cautionary tales. Sifrol is Pramipexole (Mirapex). It was a miracle drug for me (I came off 12 mg of ropinerole (Requip). Was heaven for about a year and then CRASH! Prami augements and then life is more miserable than before. I hope to try Horizant (gabapentin enacarbil which is not a dompanine agonist. Keep searching until you find what really works and then keep searching for what comes next.
