Hi all. Does anybody know if diuretics are known to worsten RLS? It's 3.41am and I'm having my second bad night in a row, I'm even 'humming' all over my body but especially my left foot, despite having taken my usual opiates.
The diuretic is a natural one, dandelion and other herbs, tablets from Holland & Barrett. I've been taking them for three days, twice daily. I'm not even sure they're working. My whole system seems very dry, yet my ankles and feet are swollen with fluid. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can't speak for natural ones but I have seen others on here report that synthetic ones cause problems - on a side note I found that urinating became linked to RLS so much so that by going to the loo I got some relief, even if it was only a few ml.
Have you spoke to your Dr? Using diuretics can throw off the fluid balance if not done carefully which could cause all sorts of problems.
Thanks to all. Things have calmed down since I stopped the HRI tabs from Holland & Barrett, I won't take them again. My GP has prescribed a temporary low dose of Frusemide (?) before I start with the compression stockings. Arghh. How I hate getting old!
