Is there any Dr or Neurologist on the Gold Coast or Brisbane Australia that knows anything about RLS...I am also at the end of my tether. When they do research into a Dopamine Agonist, it is only to see if it works but nothing seems to be researched about augmentation. The very first thing a G.P or Neurologist will do is to prescribe a Dopamine Agonist. I also think that Wikipedia should change their shameful description of RLS. It reads as if it is just a little uncomfortable condition and not the hideous, sleep deprivation, painful, drive you crazy rotten syndrome that it is and with very little help but for this forum.
I hope some one from your area in Australia is a member on here and can help you.
Hi Lascala I live in Melbourne but I have not found any doctor or neurologist who could help me. On the contrary I found some who were no use and didn't even take it seriously. I found one GP who was trying hard. I told him I was having some sciatica pains and he said that sciatica was known to be a trigger of RLS so we should try sorting out the sciatica and see if the RIS went away. Sounded like a good plan but then he just went missing and I can't trace him. He was Canadian and I had a lot of faith in him because his approach seemed systematic. He also recommended a neurologist as a parallel path. The neurologist was a snob who "knew" that he knew everything and was actually sarcastic to me when I told him I had found some relief in my gluten free diet. Now I regret that I paid his bill. I was too tired to argue
I have sent a list of actions that might help by personal message.
