Hi Everybody,

I suffer from horrible itching so when I came upon someone using hyroxyzine for MS itching on a facebook post I was pretty excited. Then after reading more about it I found that people also use it for RLS. Has anyone here used it for either condition? I have both and if this works it'd be like a miracle.

I think it might make RLS worse as it’s a sedating anti histamine.

Most anti histamines are really bad for RLS.

I’ve never tried it personally so can’t give any detailed info.

Take care

Thank you Joolsg. I'm going to tr it if I can get a Rx for it. I appreciate your response, thank you.

I read a medical report which said Hydroxizine had helped a small number of people so I asked my GP if I could try it. There are also reports that in other folk it makes it worse. It made no difference to me at all. I presume like we all think there are several different versions of RLS which result in the same symptoms but originate at different sites. There's a recent report where they have identified 5 different types of Diabetes now instead of the previously thought 2 ( or 3 ). I presume RLS will turn out to be the same

I'm sorry it didn't help you. Itching is such a crappy symptom. And it's non-stop. I'm going to ask my PCP if she'll prescribe it. Maybe it will help a little. I appreciate your response.

My 92 year old mother uses it for itching. Helps a lot but doesn’t take it completely away. Did not make her RLS any worse.

That's great news, as long as it doesn't effect the RLS. Thank you for responding!
