Sorry. Got my thoughts typed out of order while trying to make corrections. Long story short. Anybody heard of an rls product called 'Restless Legs' by a company called Hyland? Thanks irina1975

It’s called Resful Legs. And yes, i use it.

Don't think it will be much use as it clearly says on their web page:

Hyland's Restful Legs does not treat Restless Legs Syndrome. If you suspect that you have this condition, please consult a physician.

raffs. you're probably right but if it's inexpensive might try depending on the ingredients. Maybe the comment is a disclaimer. In the US there are so many lawsuits there is usually always a disclaimer. Just being hopeful. Thanks irina1975

Hyland's Restful Legs does not treat Restless Legs Syndrome. If you suspect that you have this condition, please consult a physician, Hylands had to add that as they got into trouble by saying it was for RLS.

The FDA made them put that disclaimer on their web site. The original formula had quinine in it which is now illegal in the USA unless you have malaria. So, all their products containing quinine were removed for the shelves. AND, the FDA fined Hyland's for false advertising. It can all be read on the FDA web site. fda.gov

It just struck me that for many of us old timers with RLS, we have no real belief that it can be cured, overcome or treated successfully. We look all over the place for triggers (sweeteners, crop sprays, additives etc,) and for ways of relieving the problem. As one unsuccessful treatment segues into the nest, in an never-ending succession, the only thing that gets confirmed is our underlying conviction that nothing works. Every new treatment therefore has also to surmount our mental outlook, in addition to doing whatever it's supposed to do on the physical level.

I've never had any faith whatsoever in homeopathic remedies, and consider the whole industry a scam. But that didn't stop me going to the Hylands website and asking if they shipped stuff to Norway. Just goes to show, some of us don't even believe what we don't believe anymore :-)

I didn't know sweeteners could be a trigger, I have those every day. Well that's another thing I will not be having anymore of Pluto

in reply toalemaprls

Hi alemapris. I used then for years then saw a program on Public tv which was a real eye-opener. Haven't had them in any form since. When you start researching their effects on out bodies (and minds) I think you will be appalled. I would be interested in your findings and opinion. Take care irina1975

We all live in hope that the next thing we try is the magic item that will work on our RLS. Treatments as in medications are limited to what is available to us and there is no med that is made just for RLS, no one has worked out what that could be, and that is mostly no one is interested to research to find out and RLS is complicated and i dont think they would ever find they could make a med which would suit us all, we all know how differently we react to what meds we try. A cure would come when they work out exactly what causes this condition. There are many illnesses out there looking for a cure, some get more funds for research because they are killing people. Unfortunately RLS is way down the list for funding, as its not considered a life threatening condition, even tho us who suffer know some people wish they were not on the earth anymore, they have had enough.

I tried it, it's called "Restful Legs" - no noticeable effect. Also tried their cell salts - #8 Magnesium, Phos. 6X for muscle cramps - couldn't tell if it worked or not.

I’ve been using it for a while. I take gabapentin daily and when I’m in bed and my legs start up, i take the Restful Legs by Hyland and 99% of the time i fall right to sleep.

I bought 3 bottles via Amazon at 50 pills per bottle. Quit taking them half way through because they didn't help me. Other Amazon users had scattered results: some were helped, others (like me) were not. Until you find something that helps, it's hard not to try a remedy that has helped even some RLS sufferers. When I found Kratom I felt truly blessed. Unfortunately, the US FDA is making noises about banning Kratom even though we beat back last year's attempt by the DEA to ban it.

in reply toTheDoDahMan

Hi DoDahMan. In my opinion, as I've said, there are many drugs with worse side effects but because they are profitable they are allowed by the powers that be to stay legal. I think this makes a case for more legalization of many drugs. Let the government make their profit and then bonafide patients can get what they need. In my opinion banning many substances doesn't really lessen their use-just makes more money for the black market. Just my personal opinion! irina1975
