Subtle shout-out to RLS

Was watching the new series Mare of Easttown on HBO tonight. In one scene the main character played by Kate Winslet comes home late and her elderly mother is on the couch watching TV. She asks her mom "what are you doing up so late" . Mom says, "legs are acting up again, feels like I got ants crawling through them".

We're making baby steps everyone.

It's a good show as well.

Unfortunately, the mum was apparently still sitting on the couch? For the image-forming, it would have been better if she was doing movements (shaking legs or squats) behind the couch. Baby steps indeed. But steps! 😀

Yes I was very irritated that she was lying still

I guess there are different levels of pain. My RLS is really bad now but I never had any jerking movements in my legs and not always felt like shaking the legs. It is more like an internal burning or pressure feeling so intense that it would wake me up. Up to recently having a block of ice underneath along with massaging some magnesium oil or an pressure massage from my partner helped calming the legs. Now the pain is just constant and only if I walk do I get relief and after that I may still have to sit for a while reading and watching something before getting back to sleep.

This week's episode they showed her intentionally moving her legs for relief. Maybe one of the writers perused this site and saw your post 😉

Too much credit, I think. But thanks for the idea 😊. I hope it was sufficiently obvious even to people not acquainted with RLS.
