Night off

Decided to have a night without ropinirole to see if that is what is giving me tummy cramps. I know you should have it every day but it does say if you forget a dose just leave until next dose. Have been doubled up with ibs for over a week now

I think it might take longer to get it out of your system .Check with your Doctor about how to go off ropinirole .

You may be in for a very difficult night. Even missing one dose of ropinirole will cause withdrawal.

I'm not sure ropinirole makes IBS worse but maybe you should try the low FODMAPS as it has helped a number of people on here with their RLS & it will definitely help your IBS.

Had terrible night and when I was up rubbing arms and legs ate digestive biscuits and then woke up with bad reflux as have barratts oesophagus so today feel totally kn******d. Follow low Fodmap but so many conflicting lists. Uk one different from USA

Feel very down although tummy feels a bit better

Have a look at Monash university FODMAPS list. They also have an App you can download to phone. Digestive biscuits would have to be gluten free on FODMAPS.

Also get hold of some good probiotics. Symprove or VSL are the best in the UK and have brilliant results for IBS.

Hope you get some relief from IBS and some sleep.

Have probiotics but not those so will have a search. I think the list I got from GP may be different but have seen Monash. Will get the app but think some things allowed that my list excludes

Thank you

One reason for a difference between a printed list and the App is that testing for FODMAPS is apparently very expensive. Hence when the Monash list first came out it seemed extremely restrictive but testing continues as funds are available and I think this is why quite a few foods have been added. This is a major advantage in buying the App because as soon as a new food becomes available they add it and I expect its on you phone next time your phone does an upgrade or connects to the internet.

I don't know if other research institutions are testing or if they all rely on the Monash research. I expect the different labs will be coordinated to make sure they all agree on the results and are not all spending their time and budgets testing the same food.
