Restless legs syndrome
Hi Christine
Do you manage sleep from 1am?
What meds, if any, are you taking? How long have you had RLS? A lot of OTC meds can make it worse
Hi Christine, I have had great results with Requip ! What meds have you tried ?
Have you tried changing your diet? Maybe your consuming your trigger food in the evenings. I've found that excessive sugar brings on rls. I've been virtually free of rls for the last few weeks except for one evening when I ate a flapjack. Half an hour later I was twitching enough to wake me from a nap.
Christine,
Hi. Do you exercise and if so, what time of day? I ask because too much exercise close to bedtime can trigger an attack for some of us.
Take care,
Hello Christine, is this your first post? If so we would like a little history of your RLS and what meds you have taken (and doses). It is dreadful to lose good sleep while pacing up and down for hours on end. We fully understand what it is like and will try to help if we can. Welcome!
Neil
As you can see many suffer differant levels of severity and types of symtoms. Along with their own particular medical issues. Me personally, diagnosed after bypass surgery. Didnt even know it had a name.aRLS,whats that?Myrapex introduced with emidiate results,HALLELUJAH! But 8 years later still trying to figure out best Rx routine as taking too much causes severe augmentation. ( makes it worse) Ive takin almost every kind of pill over this period of 8yrs and have cut back to only Myrapex (pramepixole ) 1/2tab at 6 to get some preemptive going then 1tab (.25) at 8ish. Magnesium tabs a.m. and p.m. so thats always in my system. Also a Zanax ocassionally for relaxing.Good luck, there is no cure and try not to overmedicate,it can make things worse. Also some of these meds may work great initially but lose there effectiveness over time. Switching meds can be done with your Drs. help. Also small med"Holidays"(day or so without) can help with tolerane issues. Im not a Dr. but this is what I've learned so far and whats working for me.Had bad stretch with Augmentation because of taking too much out of desperation. Proceed with caution. Also going to take a closer look at iron (ferratin) levels . RLS patients seem to need more.Good luck, it can get better!
Hi Minuts
I to have experienced augmentation with the very tablet your on Pramiprozole i was on 4 daily and needed more as it got worse at every increase my doc wouldn't let me take the max dose 5. I was wanting off it but just couldn't cut down as the RLS & Body too had got worse as is with augmentation i mentioned to my doc about the augmentation and she looked at me puzzled i knew she didnt know what it was that was very obvious.
I asked her for some sleeping tabs i got a 2 week course rubbish ghey were i still couldn't cut down with them so i got Diazipam 2 weeks for another 2 weeks still rubbish so i had some Ampitripyline from a previous complaint that they didn't work for i started on 10mg nope did nothing to ease the dynamic RLS & Body one also..i increased to 25mg still nothing so tried 50mg during trying this increase i was decreasing the Pramiprozole and it was a nightmare suffering it all but by hook or crook i was determined to get of it. I spent many a night crying to myself as i truly couldn't heck it any longer. Well the 50mg did the trick i was able then to come off it what a relief and a Godsend it was as i honestly was at my witts end. So now rather than let my body get used to it i miss a few nights, the lRLS doesn't break through at all praise be to God that way i hope God willing i can keep on using it and my body won't get used to it and it have no effect as i truly couldn't go back to putting up with it all again.
