Hi Beady,

I am on oxycontin morning and evening and pregabalin in the evening. The pregabalin is sleep inducing as well as helpful for RLS. Having said that, even with both meds I still get RLS every single night but not as savagely. What did your GP say? I don't think there is a problem taking both on the same day so it's more a question of choice for now- do you want to just stick with one drug for a while to see if it helps before adding in the other?

I know. I was terrified to start oxycontin after reading so many scary things BUT needs must... If it allows us to get an hour's sleep here and there, it is a necessity. I tried tramadol some months back but it didn't work for me so had to try other drugs. Fingers crossed it will work for you and keep those pesky legs quiet.

take care,

Jools

I use Tramadol with my Rotigotine (Neuro) patch. Not every night but the nights when it's really bad. They work well with less hangover than codeine. However as I find with codeine if you use them more than two nights in a row they are not so effective.

I am on repinerole 4mg paracetamol ibruphin morphine patches and medicated plasters on the top of my feet 12 hours a day I also have peripheral neuropathy and believe me when I say that some nights none of the aforementioned get too the pain ppl that don't have these ailments just don't know what you are going through on a daily basis

Do the morphine patches not help? I have recently been told I have small fibre neuropathy as well as RLS. I have been wondering what other pain help I could get. I have 1800mg Gabapentin (my first 600 have taken the edge off the pain), 200mg of Tramulief plus a 1mg Neupro patch. I don't know whether the pain is from the RLS or the neuropathy.

I have Gabapentin with Tramulef and a 1mg Neupro patch. They all seem to get along together.

Hi Beady, I take Tramadol and Gabapentin (similar to pregabalin) together with no problems. Generally, It seems that taking 2 (or even 3 !!) different meds in combination works well when tackling RLS than 1 single drug alone can do.

If the Tramadol is still working well for you don't be scared to keep taking it, it's a great drug to battle RLS with !!

All the best, Geri

I agree with Geri (book lover). In my experience a combination of meds can be more beneficial and I am pretty sure there are lots on Tramadol and pregabalin. I really hope the teamadol work for you, Beady. I know they are anxious-making meds but if they improve your quality of life then I don't think you should worry too much.

Hi I take 150mg of Lyrica ( pregablin) and 50mg of Tramadol every evening at around 7pm with no problems. I was taking 100mg of Tamadol to start but have found now that 50mg is enough most nights . I have been taking these for about 8 weeks and after 3 noticed an big improvement in symptoms. I have not had any side effects at all so far. I am happy to be free of symptoms at night. On the odd evening I have forgot to take the meds on time I have taken 100mg of Tramadol as they work much faster than the Lyrica so I can get to sleep at a reasonable time. One thing I have found with Tramadol is sometimes when taken at the 100mg dose I will wake after about 2 or 3 hours and be unable to go back to sleep. I will be wide awake and not at all sleepy. This does not happen on the lower dose. Hope this helps and good luck.

Mantel, are you still taking the Thorne's ferrous bisglycinate? Or do you feel your ferritin levels are high enough now?
