I'm new and just reading the posts on rls. Ive battled it for 10 years or so. It is a miserable feeling! Now taking ropinerole.

I hate dealing with this and I"d really like to know what causes it and surely there must be other medications besides mirapex and ropinerole. to deal with this condition. People make jokes about it but if you've never experienced it, you do not have a clue how awful it makes you feel

There are a wide variety of drugs that can be used, Tramadol, Codeine, Gabapentin, methadone, kratom, cannabis and more that I can't think of at the moment.

What causes it is a vindictive evil entity that has taken over this reality and feeds of pain and suffering, well that's my best guess

We would all like to know what causes it even the experts.. But there are two types of RLS, Primary which is genetic, gene passed on from a parent/parents. Or Secondary RLS, from a underlying condition, could be having a low ferritin level which you need to ask your doctor for a Ferritin Level test, its different from just a normal blood test, being pregnant can for some set RLS off, some meds can also set RLS off. As raffs has said there are other types of meds you can take, most find a opiate like Tramadol works well. Is the Ropinerole not working for you.. ?

there are several other meds that can be used for RLS,, trial and error will tell you if something is going to work for you.
