I dont take Ropinerole, but i know it does cause nausea for alot of people. Have you tried eating a small snack when you take the pill, i read it supposed to help. If you live in the UK, there is an OTC tablet you can get from the Chemist for nausea, its called Motilium 10. It, wont affect your RLS. according to DR.B from the rlshelp.org website. I got some in a few weeks ago when the patch started to make me feel nauseated, but it stopped before i took the Motilium 10.

been on motilium,,,not on them now,as not feeling sick on meds....wish there was a magic pill we could all take to cure us{if only}

I think if you have tried with the drug and you just feel sick best to ask for an alternative unless of course it has magical properties in another way and makes RLS feel better

I took three doses of this drug for my PD it made me feel sick and gave me severe sudden onset of flu like symptoms.

I reckon if a drug is not working ask for an alternative if possible

Hi i was on ropinrole for over a year until i found this site. I did not realise there was other drugs out there and went back to my gp im now taking another drug. You dont have to put up with thevside effects. I was so fed up of feeling sick and being sick it made me want to cry. Go back to you gp and tell them you cant put up with the side effects.

I'm on Pramipexole and at least once a week I puke from it...

It happens in the middle of the night...by morning, I'm fine as

far as nauseated.

I am on Ropinirole and have been for about 4 years. I take it at night with quite a few other drugs and suffered from terrible nausea. I was given Metoclopramide by my GP. I take this either with or up to half an hour before taking my night time Meds and no problems since.

Hand on heart I cannot say that it was the Ropinirole that made me feel nauseous but I seem to have overcome it with the Metoclopramide.

Good luck and I hope that you get it sorted soon as, to me, nausea is one of the worst feelings that you can get.

I used to be on ropinerole, after I found out gabapentin was not the med for me, and Requip(ropinerole) was worse. I lost all the weight I had gained with gabapentin, but I do not recommend the "requip weight loss program". :) some people just cannot take this class of drugs. However Mirapex tends to cause less nausea than Requip does, according to new studies out. But, I have never been that sick since I was on the dopamine meds, which is the class of drugs for ropinerole.

rlshelp.org is web site based in the US, but the treatment page is golden, maintained by an RLS expert, and he knows what he is talking about. You should be over the nausea part of it by now after 2 months, so if it is not lessening, you may need to try a different class of med. Go to the treatment page, and make sure you scroll down to see "Drugs and Foods to Avoid", also. I am pointing that out, because anti nausea meds can make your RLS go off the charts, so FYI.

Hi, i am on Ropinirole and they made me nauseous, so my Doctor from the sleep clinic at Papworth has perscribed me Domperidone 10mg to take one hour before the Ropinirole. They have stopped the nausea.

The Domperidone is the ingredient used in the Motilium 10, so its good the know that it does work, and worth giving a try... :

make sure if you get anti nausea meds that it IS Domperidone that you get, or Motilium. I know that anti nausea meds mostly can really play havoc with your RLS, but this one does not, because it does not cross the blood brain barrier, so it does not block the dopamine in the ropinerole. Otherwise, the two meds would be fighting each other as far as your dopaminne level. It is not available in the US (where I am) for prescription, so we are extremely limited as to what anti nausea meds we can take, which is only one. But, I wish it was, because I also have gastroparesis, so even though the meds I am now do not cause me nausea, other conditions do. The food does not digest and about 3 hrs later it comes up the wrong way. yay! So, I have to make sure that I am taking meds that do not make me nauseous, because sometimes it is a narrow window I have to get my meds in and keep them down. So, the quicker you stop the nausea, the better your meds will work, maybe, hopefully. :) That is theoretically speaking. You never know. It is all trial and error for all of us.

It is trial and error...hardly anyone gets sick on the meds that I take

but I do..

I know a lot of people that get sick on the same meds that you take, Yikes. It's a club. lol I cannot possibly take any of the dopamine meds like Mirapex or Requip. Violently ill. yuck yuck :)
