Have had cronic back pain and rls since 1996, i take gaberpentin 300mg x 3 a day, and

morphine 5mg x2 a day, plus statins, plus anti-deppresaints, plus gastro- resistant caps

for barretts oesophagus and hiatus hernia, i use to take up to 75mg of morphine for the pain, but i think i am on to low a dose now, have been on gaberpentin for the last

6 months with good results until last thursday evening IT came back to bit me, first in

my left leg then the right, i have had it in my arms for a few days before this, it is now

monday and i feel a bit better today, cannot see my doctor for another 3 weeks, only saw her the day before the flair up, going to increase my morphine to 10mg x 2 a day, any other advise please, OH i am new to this forum. malcolm1234.

Really sorry to hear of your suffering. It sounds like a sensible move to increase the morphine for now and I hope that works for you. I wonder would a change of opiate improve things?

Do also check that none of the meds you are on are counter-indicated for rls. You will find a list on the rls--uk website. You might also benefit by taking iron. Have you had your serum ferritin levels checked? It is a simple blood test but you need to be sure to request the actual figure - don't just let them tell you your levels are 'normal'. Normal for rls is much higher.

thankyou, involuntarydander i have stopped statins and anti-deppresants, this has helped, yes i have had my iron levels checked many times in the past and they have been normal, but probably not rls normal, i am seeing my doctor on the 26th and will get my ferritin levels checked, good programme last night, could have had more imput from doctors or neurologists for us long term suffers.
