it is okayish to take both together. Make sure if you do this, to check with your doctor first. St John's Wort is way over hyped, and they USED to say take it for RLS, but not so any more. There are a few antidepressants that are safer for RLSer's. The ones to avoid, if this is your concern, are the SSRI's and the tricyclics. St John's Wort is not for everyone, and make SURE if you do get some, to get legitimate St John's Wort. Lots of fakes out there. But, it is ok, kind of , to take with dopamine meds, like your neupro. BUT, again, it is not for everyone, and is Neupro the ONLY med you are on for any condition? it can cause issues with lots of meds for lots of conditions, so really do your homework. :)

hmmmmmm HRT could be an issue with the St John's Wort. You really have to talk to your doctor about that. We all get down when we are sleep deprived and haunted by the RLS BEAST. So, I would not be depending on St John's Wort to lift your spirits too much, although I understand why you are considering it. :) However, if your RLS is not under control, I so not think St John's Wort, in my experience with my groups, is the magic answer. It is one of those all natural things that is way over hyped, and is not as popular as it used to be 10 yrs ago. But, like I said ask your doctor, too. If it is just the sleep deprivation making you feel down, then that needs to be addressed also.

Can I suggest mindfulness:

independent.co.uk/news/scie...

There are online courses and lots of sites that will teach you all you need to know about it.

meditation:

eocinstitute.org/meditation...

there are many ways to do this - sitting quietly, walking, with music, in darkness, following your breath or one of the many guided meditations on youtube:

youtube.com/watch?v=js883ju...

Yoga:

It can distract you from the negative thoughts, it is some light exercise to get the body moving and that helps lift the mood. Again there are many videos on youtube:

Exercise:

If you are able to exercise it releases all the feel good chemicals in our brains and lifts our mood; long distance runners can even get high from the exercise.

Laughter:

Comedy shows, stand up shows, anything that can help distract you and maybe lift the mood.

Having recently experincing a depressive episode for the first time I know it can be bloody difficult to do much but when well enough employ as many of these techniques as you can and you will see a difference.

Take care.

I found the book and accompanying meditation CD by Mark Williams & Danny Penman, "Mindfulness: A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world" really helpful when I was going through stressful episodes at work
