I have just been reading about homeopathic Hypericum and/or herbal St John's Wort extract for RLS. It is a well known remedy for anxiety/depression because of its action in calming the nerves. Apparently it can heal the inflammation of the nerves that produce RL symptoms. Has anyone tried it?

Hypericum (St. John's Wort)
I haven't tried it but I know there was talk of banning it from being sold as a supplement here a few years ago. I can't remember why. As Fr. Ted says: 'It's banned in most European countries so it must be good!'
Fr. Ted was right! I have no problem getting the herbal products in the UK or internet but I prefer to opt for the Homeopathic ones because they are not toxic. I have started on a herbal tincture - because it goes straight to the blood - and will see if it helps. This is not an overnight fix and results may take awhile. I will post success or not in a few weeks.
I haven’t tried that one , but Zincum metallicum and Hylands, Restful Legs, work sometimes for me.
RLS (idiopathic, thus not the variants caused by e.g. others meds or renail failure) is - as far as is commonly known - not produced by inflammation of the nerves.
St Johns Wort helps SOME people. But, if you are taking ANY meds at all, it is one herb that can have many interactions. Al you can do is try it, I would suggest strongly for this , or any other herbal thing, you have to talk to your doctor. St Johns Wort never helped me at all, and I do not know many RLSer's who say it does. healing inflammation takes a lot of work to achieve, and then there is no actual proof that inflammation is connected to RLS. We need proper studies done, and done the right way. Inflammation and RLS is a theory among many, at best.
