Hey everyone

After having regular iron supplements my RLS has calmed down abit

However I now get sensations in my whole body which causes it to jerk every now and then is that normal?

What was your serum ferritin level previously and what is your serum ferritin level now? I wouldn't worry too much about the jerking if it is recent .. it may be your body reacting to having much needed supplies at last. But if it persists, see your gp.

That's great.

Two possibilities that I can think of.

1 -"you always had Periodic Limb Movement Disorder and the iron therapy relieved the RLS , but left you with the residual PLMD. Continued iron therapy may also relieve the PLMD - but only do this with medical oversight.

2-a very few people actually get PLMD from iron therapy - but this is very rare.

Depending on your blood counts- both ferritin and serum for iron - I would be inclined to continue the iron therapy- especially as the rls has not completely cleared up.

Watch out for rls triggers- see the two rls sites for lists

RLS UK and rlshelp.org.

Simple things like ice cream and sweeteners are just some of the common ones.

Good luck.
