Hi. I am on pramipexole 0.18mg once at night but I feel after a year or so my rls is getting worse. I believe this may be augmentation. Do you have any ideas. It drives me mad as I wake up with it now and long lies are a thing of the past.

Once augmentation kicks in, your best bet is to say goodbye to the dopamine agonists and switch to tramadol or oxycodone. Your doc might want to increase your pram dose, but that's just kicking the can down the road (and will most likely make the augmentation even worse).
Thank you. I am trying to get ideas before I go to the doctors. Thanks again.
Hi Bobadam, , This happened to me a while ago. I have been taking one 0.18 mg Pramipexole at night for years when RLS starting getting worse. After seeing my doctor I experimented with adding one 30/500mg co-codamol with the Pramipexole. This seems to work and has got me back on track. Also tried adding Tramadol instead but found co-codamol best for me. Good luck.
I take x2 pramipexole and one oxycodone (called Targinact) and it works most of the time. A lot of us seem to have more than one drug for our RLS. Good luck.
Two drugs work best for me also. I take Requip and Gabapentin. and most of the time if I stick to my schedule , it isn't as bad as if I don't,
What works best for me is Miirapex but the thing I feel compulsed to do makes it a dangerous drug for me to take.
I am trying not to feed the system and keep myself busy during the day. Although I still feel it I don't let it get to me too much. But that is getting harder to do and at some point I will have to go back to the doctors. Everyone's feedback has been great and will give me something to discuss with the doctor. Thanks everyone.
