Good luck. I am from the US, so cannot help with any personal knowledge, but someone should be able to help here. I know there is a list of doctors on the RLS UK web site, at least i am pretty sure.
My dad looked in the Manchester area but did find anyone with the specialist knowledge he needed. He has been referred to London now.
I went to Salford Royal to see the team of neurologists for my sleep disorder and it is there that i finally got help for my RLS too. But honestly the best thing is to find a good GP that understands what it is to have RLS.
I had a very disappointing appointment with a doctor from Salford Royal which led me to contact most hospitals in the Manchester area and asked if they had a doctor who had an interest in RLS, their answers were all negative. Wythenshawe Hospital has a sleep service and the doctor there was very helpful, but if you have augmented and have tried most of the drugs available you become too complicated for them to be able to help. The biggest problem is that most hospitals treat RLS what I would call "The NHS Way" their horizons are low and they are quite happy to let you augment a second time. In my mind there is only one way forward - ask your doctor to get permission for a referral to see Dr Choudhary at Kings College hospital London. You will get the referral through patient choice. It's dead easy to get there - train to Euston, bus No. 68 direct to the hospital - come home a very happy chappie!!!
Hope this helps.
